- The bit about Oprah Winfrey buying apartments in the building where the murder case takes place, is a thinly veiled reference to Oprah attempting unsuccessfully to buy beachfront land in a Maui, and the subsequent mysterious fire of August 8, 2023, which killed 115 people.
