Lemond Bishop is a powerful Chicago drug lord -- whose illicit activities fund the legal enterprises in which he is involved which is why he is often referred to as a businessman -- whom Lockhart/Gardner has represented on a number of occasions.

In Episode 16 of Season 1, Bishop's lawyer, Eric Dorfman, was arrested and charged with giving the name of a federal witness to his client, resulting in her murder. It's found out that Dorfams daughter had leaked the witness list to win her father's approval, he later said that he'd rather take the fall then letting his daughter rot in prison. Bishop got his bodyguard to confess resulting in Dorfman's release.

Bishop was arrested for the murder of a confidential witness in the episode 'Waiting for the Knock'. However, these charges were eventually dismissed after Alicia was forced to work with attorney Charles Lester in the episode 'Running with the Devil'.

Bishop is suspected to have killed his wife by drug overdose after she tried to get full custody of their son. He is currently incarcerated.
