Peggy Byrne is a journalist.
She interviewed both Peter Florrick and Alicia Florrick after Peter's gubernatorial announcement. Alicia couldn't make it to the interview at the time Eli Gold originally arranged it, so Peggy sat down with Peter first, showing him Mike Kresteva’s campaign ad. She then, alongside Eli, visited Alicia's office at Lockhart/Gardner. Though Peggy asked Peter mainly campaign related questions, interview with Alicia was much more invasive, inappropriate and sexist. Among other, Peggy called Alicia hypocrite and a doormat. She always masked her rude and sinister questions with wide smile. When Will Gardner was alone with Alicia, he told her that Peggy also wants to interview him and supposedly talk about how he and Alicia work together. He added that he intends to blow Peggy off and suggest her to do an interview with Diane Lockhart instead, but Alicia nevertheless seemed worried that Peggy might know something about her affair with Will.
Eli later talked Peggy into writing an article about her competitor Mandy Post, who published a story about Peter's alleged affair with a campaign worker. Following Eli's idea, Peggy's article talked about Mandy fabricating story of Peter's affair in order to get revenge for her cousin, who was prosecuted when Peter was State attorney. The article got Mandy fired.
Trivia[]
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the storyline of Mandy Post was originally meant for Peggy. Due to actress Kristin Chenoweth's injury on the set of The Good Wife, she only managed to film scenes for the first episode of season 4 and later was replaced with Miriam Shor's character.
